Welcome to Central Coast Soaring Club
Founded in 1981

Situated at Mangrove Mountain on the NSW Central Coast, just 45 mins from Hornsby and 25 mins drive from Gosford, the Central Coast Soaring Club provides facilities and training for glider pilots.

The Club is affiliated with Gliding Australia and is run as a non-profit organization that is incorporated and fully insured for the protection of its visitors and members.
​
The Club focuses on training glider pilots at the most affordable cost possible and promoting the sport of gliding and cross-country flying. Launching is by winch, the most affordable and exhilarating method of launching gliders.
The Club draws members from the northern Sydney suburbs and Central Coast region of NSW. Membership is open to all who have an interest in gliding, learning to fly gliders and spending time with a community of aviation.

You don't need to own your own aircraft to fly, when you join the Club you are able use any of the Club gliders

Flying lessons can start at 14, first solo can be from age 15.

Notably we have many Members who take up flying upon retirement and go first solo much later in life

Glider pilots need the same Medical clearance required for a car licence.

Our Club uses a winch to launch the aircraft. This takes you from stationary to 1,500' in about 35 seconds

Gliding is a team sport, when you join the club you become part of our community and make lifelong friends

We fly most Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays - weather and crew permitting.
